Natural rock walls · Moncton and southeast NBBuilt from stone. Built to stay.

A natural rock wall holds back a slope, stops the ground from washing away, and turns an awkward bank into a yard you can use. We set big natural stone with the machine, one rock at a time, so it looks right and stays put for decades.

Why it matters

A slope that moves takes your yard with it.

Every spring, a steep bank loses a little more dirt. Rain cuts into it, the bottom washes out, and before long the lawn, the driveway, or the shoreline is creeping away.

A wall of big natural stone stops that. It's heavy enough to hold the ground, lets water drain out through the gaps, and looks like it's been part of the land all along.

What we do

How we handle natural rock walls.

Book my free estimate
  1. The right stone

Big natural rock, sized for the height of the wall and the weight it has to hold.

  2. A solid bottom row

We dig in and set the first row into the ground, so the wall has something firm to stand on.

  3. One rock at a time

Each stone is placed with the machine and leaned back into the slope, so the wall pushes into the ground it's holding.

  4. Drainage behind it

Clean stone goes behind the wall so water drains out instead of building up and pushing it over.

The result

A slope that stays put, a yard you can use, and a wall that looks like it belongs there.

Let's get started

Straight answers

Good questions to ask.

Anything else? Call the office. A real person will answer.

How tall can a rock wall be?

It depends on the slope, the soil, and what sits above it. Taller walls take more planning, and some need a permit or an engineer. We'll tell you what your site needs during the free estimate.

What if it's near a stream or lake?

In New Brunswick, work within 30 metres of a stream, river, lake, or wetland needs a provincial permit. We'll let you know during the estimate if yours does.

Do you build block walls too?

Yes. We build natural stone walls and block retaining walls. We'll walk your slope with you during the free estimate and help you pick the one that fits your yard.

Can you turn my slope into level steps?

Yes. Instead of one tall wall, a slope can be broken into a few shorter walls with flat ground between them, giving you level space you can actually use.

How long will it take?

It depends on how long and how tall the wall is, and how easy your site is to get into. You'll get a timeline along with your quote, before any work starts.

Will the machine wreck my yard?

The machine needs a way in, and the ground where we work gets disturbed. We plan the way in with you ahead of time and grade the ground back when we're done. Topsoil and seeding can be added to your quote.
